Medical Care

On-Ramp Sessions and Fees

As we want you to be confident in your choice to establish care with us, an informational “on-ramp” session, via phone, is offered to all prospective clients at a reduced rate of $100. This informational session last approximately 30 minutes and provides prospective patients with information regarding what is needed to successfully initiate care. Over the years, it has been noted that patients can save much time and money by understanding what is needed of them prior to starting care. The topics which are covered in detail can vary depending on the needs of the prospective client, but typically include the discussion of the following: laboratory testing (blood & urine), location of testing sites, lab turnaround times, approximate lab fees, as well as the limitations of different testing methods. Additionally, as the first step of any mold illness protocol is avoidance of exposure, discussion typically includes an overview of indoor mold testing, limitations of different testing methods, sourcing of mold testing kits, finding a trustworthy IEP and/or remediator, etc. Many clients have found this “on-ramp” session invaluable as it gives a general understanding of what is necessary for successful treatment, prior to committing to being seen in office at the full fee rate.

It should be noted that “on-ramp” sessions occur via phone only. No specific medical conditions shall be discussed, nor will medical or legal advice be provided; the “on-ramp” session is strictly for informational use only. Due to time limitations and the large amount of information that is conveyed, not all questions or all the aforementioned information may be conveyed within the 30-minute session. It is requested that prospective clients have realistic expectations of time, and therefore prioritize any questions that they deem important. “On ramp” sessions are not to exceed 30 minutes. Only one “on-ramp” session may be schedule per person, and the $100 nonrefundable fee must pre-paid at the time of scheduling. Any additional questions that cannot be answered within the 30-minute time frame will require initiation of in office care, or scheduling of a “professional consult” at the full rate. In the event of a missed “on-ramp” session the $100 fee will suffice as a non-refundable no-show fee.

In Office Visits and Fees: NYC

Office visits are available to clients in New York city. As a Naturopathic Doctor in the state of New York I am able to discuss the health impacts of mold and am able to make wellness suggestions that do not require expensive medications or labs.

As Naturopathic Physicians are unlicensed in the state of New York, we are unable to order labs or prescribe medications. Some clients choose to work in tandem with their primary care providers to have labs drawn or some clients choose to order their own labs through a consumer laboratory company.

New York clients who absolutely require labs, or medications are encouraged to establish care with Life After Mold’s Vermont location. Dr. Tessier holds a Vermont license which allows her to order labs and prescribe, but ONLY in the state of Vermont.

Wellness suggestions made during in-office New York visits are not to be used in place of care directed by a licensed physician. Dr. Tessier and/or Life After Mold, will not be held liable for any actions taken by the client, as a result of information discussed. All New York city clients must sign a separate consent form.

Most clients require a minimum of three office visits to establish a comprehensive plan. Regular follow-up appointments are recommended every 6-8 weeks in person. clients must maintain follow up appointments at least every 6 months, in order to be considered an active client.

All visits and phone consultations require a nonrefundable $200 prepayment collected during the scheduling process. This prepayment will be applied toward your visit balance. In the event of a client’s missed office appointment or client’s missed phone consult the $200 will suffice as a nonrefundable no-show fee.

The first office visit includes a comprehensive intake, and initial plan. The appointment generally lasts for two hours. A first office visit is billed at the rate of $1000.00 due at time of service (minus the $200 prepayment). Any time that is spent over two hours will be billed accordingly, at an hourly rate of $500.00 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments (8 min will be rounded up to 15min).

Follow up visits generally last for 60-90 minutes, however, be sure to allot for 90 minutes. Follow-up visits are billed at $500.00 per hour (minus the $200 prepayment). Any time that is spent over one hour will be billed accordingly, at an hourly rate of $500.00 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments (8 min will be rounded up to 15min).

Please note NYC office visits require a higher rate as Dr. Tessier is charging for the added convenience of being seen locally, rather than in Vermont.

Nutritional supplements are not included in previously described fees.

VCS must be done in office; no additional charges beyond time will be incurred.

Please budget approximately $200-$400 per month for nutritional supplements and behavioral interventions.

Treatment of Mold and Biotoxin Illness requires significant out-of-pocket expenses. These encompass not only our office visit fees, but additional structural work, emotional/psychological work and detox therapies. We encourage you to budget for sustaining these costs in order to achieve long term outcomes while working with us.

As Dr. Tessier must travel to see patients in NYC, a full day of patients must be scheduled in order to rationalize travel time and overhead. Therefore, if reserved days are not fully booked, the patients will be alerted to cancellation and their $200 deposit returned. Notice of cancellation due to low scheduling rates will occur no later than 48 hours.
